nineteen days

day one

“This is the Day whereon the Ocean of God’s mercy hath been manifested unto men, the Day in which the Day Star of His loving-kindness hath shed its radiance upon them, the Day in which the clouds of His bountiful favor have overshadowed the whole of mankind. Now is the time to cheer and refresh the down-cast through the invigorating breeze of love and fellowship, and the living waters of friendliness and charity.”

“I beseech Thee, O my God, by Thy mighty Sign, and by the revelation of Thy grace amongst men, to cast me not away from the gate of the city of Thy presence, and to disappoint not the hopes I have set on the manifestations of Thy grace amidst Thy creatures. Thou seest me, O my God, holding to Thy Name, the Most Holy, the Most Luminous, the Most Mighty, the Most Great, the Most Exalted, the Most Glorious, and clinging to the hem of the robe to which have clung all in this world and in the world to come.”

iain/left (canberra, australia): The Fast is here! A time when both the thirst for knowledge and the thirst for water increase. A material hunger goes hand-in-hand with spiritual food. And the joys of creativity, inspiration, reflection and meditation mask the pangs of an empty stomach. When I awoke earlier than necessary this morning, and as I anxiously waited for a brilliant sunrise that unfortunately came mostly hidden behind thick rainclouds, I was reminded by the fact that we don’t always receive exactly what we want, hope or expect… but nevertheless, God’s blessings continue to shine (or pour) on us, and I will be forever grateful for being able to turn and face in the right direction to receive them.

May you joyfully receive and partake of all that He has destined for you in this Day.

As always, the “Nineteen Days-mysteriously-complimentary-yet-beautifully-unplanned-photo-phenomenon” kicks in.

This time the orange glow of lamps working their synergy across continents…

After sending the photos, I worried that the yellows, oranges, and reds might clash with the colors in Iain’s photos. Seeing that candle and the other similar colors that he chose stuns me every time.
