day two

“Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth is a direct evidence of the revelation within it of the attributes and names of God, inasmuch as within every atom are enshrined the signs that bear eloquent testimony to the revelation of that Most Great Light. Methinks, but for the potency of that revelation, no being could ever exist. How resplendent the luminaries of knowledge that shine in an atom, and how vast the oceans of wisdom that surge within a drop! To a supreme degree is this true of man, who, among all created things, hath been invested with the robe of such gifts, and hath been singled out for the glory of such distinction. For in him are potentially revealed all the attributes and names of God to a degree that no other created being hath excelled or surpassed. All these names and attributes are applicable to him. Even as He hath said: “Man is My mystery, and I am his mystery.” Manifold are the verses that have been repeatedly revealed  in all the Heavenly Books and the Holy Scriptures, expressive of this most subtle and lofty theme. Even as He hath revealed: “We will surely show them Our signs in the world and within themselves.” Again He saith: “And also in your own selves: will ye not, then, behold the signs of God?”

“O thou speaker in the remembrance of God!

Verily I say unto thee, O servant of God! The earth and what is therein are imaginations or reflections in mirrors or shades; but the bounty of the Kingdom and the gifts of the invisible world are the thoughts of the Merciful One, and the lordly radiances are immortal and constant and unending. Thou must depend upon these! Thou must depend unto these! Thou must depend upon these!”

elliott/left (ross creek, australia): The Fast is proving to be an excellent opportunity to review the way I go about being a family member, employee, community member and individual soul. Today, I am reflecting on how reliance on God is key to progressing in any of these capacities. I pray for the conviction to apply what I learn during this period to my actions in the forthcoming year.

ashley/right (sandy, u.k.): At the start of this Fast, as we all ponder the material and the physical,  I have been thinking about the connection between the body and the soul.  We’ll never fully understand it, but there are some pretty hefty clues.  Go to Google Images and search for “cilia” – your body is full these microscopic structures.  Every one contains an amazing symbol of the Revelation.

This set of photos has a wonderful symmetry; the composition of each image balances out the others.

How is it possible that those photographs could be so similar? Did you plan it together? Whatever you did, they are amazing. Wonderful!

Not only are the photos so similar, but the reflections and quotations too. You guys must’ve been on a similar wavelength even though you were on opposite ends of the world. Just beautiful.

It’s freaky, isn’t it. I can assure you there was no planning! Looks like even the weather was the same in Australia and England.

It’s as if your images are the spiritual representations of mine. This is what the quotes and reflections speak of. Glad I could share this day with you!

[…] Elliott was again asked to contribute to the Nineteen Days blog this year. So on the weekend, our little family awoke before sunrise, picked up some take-away breakfast, and had a nice drive to the outskirts of Ballarat so Elliott could take his sunrise photo. It was a misty morning, but the fog added a mystical touch to his photos – as if you were in a magical fairyland. We drove up to Lal Lal first, admiring the scenery, driving along the windy roads before making our way to Mount Buninyong where El took his shot. […]
